myNEWS Launched Japanese-Inspired Ready-To-Eat Food Production Centre in Malaysia! ❤

myNEWS Holding Berhad, Malaysia's largest home-grown retail convenience store chain, launched its Japanese-inspired food production centre (FPC). This is one of its efforts to elevate the local convenience market with the highest standards of quality, hygiene and freshness. The production centre, which operates under its subsidiaries, myNEWS Ryoyupan Sdn Bhd and myNEWS Kineya Sdn Bhd, will supply myNEWS stores with a wide array of high quality ready-to-eat (RTE) food.

Understanding the need to cater for the busy lifestyle and increasing affluence of Malaysians who demand covenant access to retail stores that offer a variety of quality products and services, particularly quality food for convenience and fast consumption, myNEWS has taken the initiative to bring in renowned food industry players from Japan as partners.

In order to provide Malaysians with food of Japanese quality and standard, myNEWS must bring in Japanese experts to produce it. With that, Malaysians can now enjoy hassle-free options of grab-and-go Japanese inspired food catered to Malaysian tastes - ranging from sandwiches, nigiri and bento as well as freshly-baked breads from its own bakery line Maru Bakes, and refreshing and stimulating hot and cold beverages from myNEWS' Maru Kafe - while not forgetting mouthwatering local delicacies such as curry laksa and nasi lemak.

myNEWS' food production centre, which started commercial production in June 2019, is able to support up to 600 outlets via two manufacturing plants that are driven by Gourmet Kineya Co Ltd and Ryoyu Baking Co Ltd, which are leasers and experts in Japanese food industry in Japan. This is a huge step for myNEWS and is in line with their strategy to always be the go-to convenience store.

Since its inception in Dec 1996, myNEWS has grown successfully and is currently serving more than 5 million customers per month at over 500 outlets nationwide. Having grown from a single traditional newsstand 23 years ago, myNEWS Group now owns the largest Japanese driven ready-to-eat product line, and the opening of its food production centre marks another important milestone for the homegrown brand in the fastest growing and changing segment of the retail industry.

In short, myNEWS' ready-to-eat product line includes selections from Maru Kafe: Maru Cream, a soft-serve ice cream; the famous Maru Coffee for your everyday coffee fix and Maru Bakes' freshly baked bakery products which are developed in a controlled environment at myNEWS' food production centre in Kota Damansara.

In addition to the Maru brand of offerings, there is a wide selection of rice and noodle-based meals such as sandwiches, onigiri, bento, curry laksa, nasi lemak, spaghetti, etc. Customers in Klang Valley can now satisfy their cravings at more than 300 selected myNEWS outlets.

In addition to their fast growing physical stores network and the new FPC to serve the customers better, they are simultaneously enhancing the convenience for their customers by launching myNEWS DASH online delivery service, a hassle-free option for customers who wish to have their food and daily needs delivered to their doorstep. Riding on the new awareness of its stringent RTE food standards, it is a strategic move intended to push its quality products beyond its outlets, directly to consumers.
