[Beauty Review] Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum ❤

Holla readers! It's been awhile since I last blogged. Today I would like to take this opportunity to share with you a product that was recently launched in Malaysia. Introducing the Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum which contains highly potent ingredients that improve skin dullness and promote surface cell turnover for more even, brighter and glowing skin.

Being a Murad skincare lover myself, I was so excited when I received these two products to try - Murad Dark Spot Correcting Serum and Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++. 

Let me start off by sharing more about Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum. This Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum from Murad is a rapid dark spot correction without a doctor's visit. It is formulated to work on a wide range of skin tones, as it targets the appearance of dark spots, which can show up on skin in different ways depending on skin tone. 

Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum 

This Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum contains patented resorcinol technology (exclusive to Murad) that visibly reduces the intensity of the look of dark spots and uneven tone. Resorcinol inhibits tyrosinase (a precursor to dark spots and hyperpigmentation). Clinically, ethyl resorcinol in particular demonstrated efficacy in improving the appearance of dark spots and promoting even tone.

This potent ingredient is the next frontier in treatment of dark spots and hyper pigmentation. Over 5 decades of clinical research and an excess of 1000 in-vitro experiments have demonstrated that resorcinol are potent and efficacious - all while being safe for skin. 

Other than patented resorcinol technology, tranexamic acid is also one of the key ingredients which help to minimize the appearance of hyper pigmentation and uneven skin tone. FYI, tranexamic acid is often used for melasma (dark spots) treatment including post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation (PIH) and pregnancy melanoma and it is safe to use for all skin types and colours. 

Besides that, Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum also contains glycolic acid (commonly used in exfoliants) that removes dulling surface cells for enhanced radiance on all skin tones. 

In addition, this product contains a combination of antioxidants and soothing ingredients that help diminish the appearance of pigmentation caused by inflammation. Hence that's why you will feel some cooling sensation upon application.

Application of the Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum is rather easy. Remember to apply 1- 2 pumps on your face day and night after cleansing and followed by a moisturiser of your choice. Be sure to apply sunscreen if you are applying the serum during the day. 

The serum does not feel sticky on the face after application and it absorbs onto the skin immediately leaving a little glow on the face.

I do have Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum and the new Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum. The packaging on the other hand is definitely different from the latest Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum.

The orange texture is slightly thicker compared to the new Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum. The Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum is clear in colour and slight watery compared to Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum. Both Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum and Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum will definitely be the best duo for spots correction and even out more skin tone in the future. 

Probably I will give you a short introduction on Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum. It contains proprietary niacinamide complex which clinically proven to even skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots, age spots and hyper pigmentation in 6 weeks. It also contains Vitamin C, oligopeptides and subtle light-reflecting pearls to enhance skin's radiance and help brighten tone instantly and over time. 

VERDICT

I have a problem with dull skin tone and a few acne scars on my face lately. I am going to put this Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum to test to address my skin problems. I have incorporated all the products I have from Murad to see the efficacy and results of the new Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum on my face for 2 weeks. 

Here are the products that I have used for my skincare regime for the past 2 weeks: 

Day Regime

• Renewing Cleansing Cream
• Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Cream
• Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence 
• Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum 
• Intense Recovery Cream / Nutrient-Charged Water Gel 
• City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 | PA++++ 

Night Regime

• Renewing Cleansing Cream
• Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Cream
• Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence 
• Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum 
• Retinol Youth Renewal Serum 
• Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream

I would also switch Daily Clarifying Peel or Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel in between my 2-week skincare regime. 

Here are some of the before and after photos I took in 8 days, 12 days and 14 days.

Overall I was happy with the results. My skin becomes noticeably brighter and more glowing compared to the days before I started using it. I love the fact that it gives the glow on my face. I am no longer using foundation and concealer everyday whenever I go to work these days. 

Did I also mention that the acne scar near my mouth has already lightened after I started using Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum? The obvious results on my acne scar amazed me the most.

Moving on to City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF50 PA++++, it shields your skin against multiple types of light damage (blue light from screens or outdoor UVA and UVB). As you all know that UV light is not the only light that causes skin damage and visible signs of ageing. Blue light from excessive screen time can also take its toll. 

Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++

It is a 100% mineral sunscreen that helps color correct and even tone with no ashy residue. It absorbs quickly onto the skin leaving a luminous, pearlized finish on the skin. This fragrance-free sunscreen is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin too. 

Do take note to apply an adequate amount (at least 2 fingers) of City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++ to protect your skin from sun damage. This is another sunscreen that I love to use as it doesn't feel sticky and greasy on the skin. 

Look at the immediate results after my whole skincare regime. My skin looks more glowing after application. 

Overall, I am satisfied with the results. My face becomes brighter and skin looks more glowing. The sunscreen on the other hand gives a radiant finish which makes overall complexion looks flawless. This Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum is definitely an ultimate solution to pigmentation and dark spot correcting. Best part is that it is a rapid dark spot correction without a doctor's visit. I would highly recommend this! Of course DO NOT forget to apply sunscreen indoor and outdoor to protect the skin from sun or light damage (blue light from screens).
