[Beauty Review] My Greenish Grey Ombré Hair Makeover @ 90's Hairstyle ❤

Holla readers! I am back in blogging after a few weeks hiatus. I am supposed to blog about this a few weeks ago but all the photos in the pen drive were corrupted and I had deleted those photos in my phone. =/ Luckily I managed to find them in my iCloud storage after so long. Sorry guys for delaying! Year 2017 was an amazing year for me. I took by chance to step out of the comfort zone to try out something new - bleaching my hair.

Honestly speaking I never had the chance to bleach my hair due to my profession and I always envy my friends who get to bleach or colour their hair. While I am still on a break, I have decided to take this period of time to try out something that I have been wanting to try for the longest time.

Minimalist design in 90's Hairstyle salon.

I decided to check out the new salon - 90's Hairstyle which is located at Sri Petaling (not too far from Subang Jaya - easily accessible using KESAS Highway) to try out the services provided by the team. Jennifer, the senior hair stylist in the salon was so kind to assist me in choosing the right colours for my hair. Since I have been wanting to try a combination of green and blue ombré coloured hair, she picked and mixed the right shades of green and blue for me.

My hair so frizzy and not well-maintained.

From my previous bleaching experience, I bleached the inner part of my hair and the colour is still there, so Jennifer mentioned that I need to bleach the outer part of my virgin hair to even out the tone from the inner part of the hair.

The inner part of the hair was damaged because of the bleach

I had to bleach my hair for about 2 - 3 times to get the same shade as the inner part of the hair. Before Jennifer started off with the whole bleaching process, she told me that she added Olaplex Bond Multiplier No. 1 into the lightener to dramatically reduce the breakage and make the color last longer.  This concentrated first salon step rebuilds broken disulphide bonds and begins the process of preventing damage and repairing hair.

Can't wait to see the results on the bleached part with Olaplex. (=

I heard so much about Olaplex but I did not really find out what what is about because I can't bleach my hair due to my profession. However this time round, I decided to do some research on the Olaplex product and I found that this product really does its magic on the bleached hair.

With Olaplex, you can highlight / bleach your hair whenever you want as this Olaplex really helps to reduce the breakage on the hair from the constant bleaching and colouring and this will be a plus point for those who loves to change their hair colour almost every month.

Olaplex Bond Multiplier No. 1 and Olaplex Bond Perfector No. 2

Olaplex products includes a patented active ingredient that works on a molecular level to seek out broken bonds in the hair that are caused by chemical, thermal and mechanical damage. Olaplex can be used to restore compromised hair or add it to another service to provide the ultimate breakage insurance.

After the whole bleaching process, Jennifer applied Bond Perfector No. 2 for 5 minutes followed by rinse, shampoo and condition after the lightener is rinsed from the hair to eliminate breakage with every colour service. This second salon step continues to rebuild and restore any remaining broken bonds ensuring the strongest, shiniest and healthiest hair possible

The whole bleaching process took quite a while. My hair was in bad shape and the ends were dry. So before we continued colouring process, Jennifer helped to get rid of the dry ends by trimming them. The colouring process was a short one and the colours placed on my hair were the bizarre colours which I was quite worried.

Jennifer assured that the colours would not turn out to be super bright as I do not want bright ombré colours on my hair.

Jennifer mentioned that she would use Milbon Deesse's 3-Step-Treatment after the hair colouring process. Milbon Deesse's is a quick-and-easy-3-step salon treatment which is designed to improve the feel of the hair instantly in only 15 - 20 minutes.

While waiting for the treatment.

Jennifer went on applying the 1st Step of Milbon Deese's. Jennifer squeezed out excess water from my hair before slowly rubbing the treatment lotion into hair strands. My hair falls into the coarse and unruly category due to the constant bleaching in the past two months, and the step 1 which contains amino oil helps to smoothen out the surface bumps on each strand of hair.

Next is to apply step 2 directly after step 1. Unlike most hair treatments, step 2 of Deesse's hair treatment is applied directly on top of step 1. Starting from hair ends and working your way up, the stylist will massage the treatment until the hair softens, then comb through fingers before rinsing it off.

Nano mist is used in this step on the hair to ensure that the treatment is able to penetrate into the other parts of the hair to ensure that the treatment last longer than usual.

Nano mist is sprayed directly on the hair for a few minutes. The temperature of the mist can be adjusted according to the customer's preference. I like it to be hot so Jennifer adjusted the mist to the higher temperature. The mist somehow was not harsh on the face and it does not cause sweat dripping down on face like how other steamer works.

Apply Step 3 of Milbon Deesse's after rinsing. Step 3 was done at the washing area and I was told to wait for 10 minutes. This Step 3 treatment is applied from hair ends upwards after squeezing out the excess water. Jennifer blow dried my hair and curled my hair after the treatment.

The whole process took about 5 hours and a half and I am super satisfied with the results. The hair is even softer, smoother and more manageable after bleaching and colouring.

L-R: Before and After

The previous bleaching experience somehow damaged my hair (I did that about a month before I go for this one) and 90's Hairstyle team managed to revive my damaged hair with the Olaplex and Milbon 3-Step Treatment. 2 days later, I washed my hair and I was surprised that the hair ends of the bleached part were still looking healthy and soft. I applied lesser hair serum and the ends were not dry and it's also easy to comb with my fingers as well.

I had to be honest in this. Part of me was skeptical trying out bleaching my hair because I have heard from my friends that bleaching the hair will damage the hair. However, with the good service from 90's Hairstyle, they somehow gained my trust that bleaching will not damage the hair like how they bleach in those days with Olaplex product.

Time to take a selfie! *winkz*

Below is the photo taken with my hair after one week. The hair colour is still looking great after one week even after I wash my hair every day. My hair is invisibly softer and manageable up till now.
